SHORT VERSION OF OUR RULES

EMERGENCIES

THE SOUND OF THE AIR HORN MEANS AN EMERGENCY AT THE POOL AND ALL DECK AREAS MUST BE CLEARED IMMEDIATELY.

** If 911 is necessary all members will be directed to wait outside the pool grounds. No vehicles are to leave the pool parking lot we will need Tenney Ave. clear for emergency traffic. If given the ok to leave, we ask that you go up Tenney Ave. and make a right onto Center Ave. to keep Tenney Ave. clear.

 OBLIGATIONS AND CONDUCT OF MEMBERS

We are now a smoke free facility.  Smoking will no longer be permitted anywhere within the pool grounds. Smoking is permitted outside the front gate in the designated smoking area.

1. Members MUST use the railroad crossing whether on foot or in a vehicle. Persons found to have crossed the railroad tracks at any other point will be subject to immediate suspension and/or cancellation of membership.

2. Vehicles must be driven slowly and carefully on access roads and in parking lot. Parking on surrounding streets, excessive speeds and any other form of annoyance to our neighbors must be avoided.

3. Bicycles must be parked in the bike rack.

4. Loss of membership cards should be reported to the pool office. A service charge will be made for replacing lost or damaged cards.

5. Cost of any club property damage will be charged to the responsible member.

6. No food, beverages, candy & ice cream will be permitted outside the picnic area. ONLY CLEAR water bottles are permitted on the grounds. Coolers are not permitted by your chairside. They must be put on the shelves in the picnic area.

7. Any person considered by the pool management to be under the influence of alcohol/drugs will be denied access to the club grounds.

8. Chairs, lounges and/or tables cannot be reserved by or for members or guest who are not on the club grounds.

9. Gum chewing is NOT permitted on the pool grounds.

10. Members and guests are required to clean their picnic tables and pick up their refuse from under the tables.

11. Members are responsible for the behavior of their guest and may be suspended for their guest’s inappropriate actions.

12. Disobedience of guards’ orders or insolent replies will not be tolerated. Persons not complying will be reported to the Board of Trustees for disciplinary action.

INSTRUCTION

Pool personnel will conduct swimming and water safety instruction, rain or shine (with the exception of thunder). These activities will be scheduled at the manager’s discretion and will be posted. During instruction periods, sections of the pool may be restricted for this use.

Parents are not permitted on the lower deck or near the lessons during instruction.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

1. All persons MUST shower before entering pool. Street clothes are not permitted in the pool, only bathing suits as per  state health code.

2. Admission to the pool shall be refused to anyone with colds, inflamed eyes and/or Infections. All Band Aids and Bandages must be removed before entering the pool.

3. Spitting and nose blowing in the pool is prohibited.

4. No pets will be allowed on club property, with the exception of service animals.

5. Diving will be permitted from the diving boards only. Swimmers must use ladders only to exit pool. No one is permitted in the diving hopper to catch a diver/jumper. Persons who are non-swimmers are prohibited from using the diving area. Sitting and playing on pool stairs is prohibited.

6. Running is not permitted anywhere on the club grounds. Pushing, rough play, wrestling,  playing ball or causing undue disturbances on the decks or in the pool will not be  permitted. Violations will result in disciplinary action taken by staff;

1st violation = 10 minute benching

2nd violation = 20 minute benching

3rd violation = Suspension for the day

Any other violations will result in 1 week’s suspension

7. No glass containers of any kind will be allow on the club grounds. Also NO alcoholic beverages of any kind will be allowed.

8. One of the prime purposes of our club is to teach non-swimmers to swim. Therefore no devices intended to keep a person afloat or underwater breathing devices will be permitted. This also applies to guests. Only swimming goggles that are plastic will be permitted.

9. Private chairs will not be permitted on the grounds, nor may chairs be placed on the pool decks or concrete walks.

10. Children under 10 years of age will not be permitted within the club grounds unless accompanied by a person over 16 years of age.

11. Children between the ages 10 and 12 must be accompanied by a person over 16 years of age unless the child has taken the water & rule test. A parent and manager’s signature must be present on the back of the childs membership card indicating parent/manager’s approval and passage of both tests.

12. Use of the kiddie pool shall be limited to children under 7 years of age. Toddlers not toilet trained must wear diapers. No rigid toys will be allowed in the kiddie pool. An adult must be sitting on the side of the pool supervising their children, not supervising in a chair off in the grass. It only take a second for an accident.

13. Parents are obliged to keep children who are not toilet trained out of the main pool. Parents are not to remove diapers to use the main pool. Any parent caught doing this will be suspended immediately.

14. Strollers must be kept at least 5 feet from the edge of the pool for the child’s safety.

15. The pool and grounds must be cleared during a thunderstorm. It is not permitted to sit under trees, umbrellas or overhangs. Members are not permitted to shower during a storm. Members must vacate the pool grounds during a thunderstorm.  The safest place is in your car until  the storm passes.

16. Underwater swimming for the full length of the pool is not allowed. Any other underwater swimming deemed to be excessive will not be allowed by the guards.

17. Eye glasses are permitted in the pool as long as the lenses are made of plastic.

18. No electrical appliances are permitted  on the lower deck area near the pool.

20. Pool staff are not to be used as “baby-sitters” nor can they be made responsible for children in the absence of parents. The principle duty of staff members is to guard the pool and maintain proper protection at all times.  They cannot take on additional duties of a personal nature for individuals. Parents or other adults must supervise children who are non-swimmers when they are in the main pool as well as in the wading pool and on the playground. Parents are directly responsible for the safety of their children.

When your child is in the main pool or you are watching from the side at the wading pool, If you are not within arm’s reach, you are too far.

From time to time it will undoubtedly be necessary for the pool management or the guards to ask members to comply with request not specifically covered in these rules and regulations. All members and guest are asked to cooperate by following their instructions promptly.

Flagrant violation of the rules will result in suspension by management until a meeting of the Board of Trustees. Such suspensions will be a maximum of one (1) week, or until the Board of Trustees, meeting in special session, can designate an appropriate action.
